How do i update my galaxy nexus GSM I9250 from 4.0 to 4.3?

I have a question I was hoping somebody on here might be able to answer. I just purchased a new GSM Samsung Nexus which has Android 4.0 installed. I'm wondering if it will automatically upgrade to Jellybean 4.3? If not, what do I need to do to update my phones Android OS? This will be my first Android so any input will be appreciated.

New? Where did you get it? They stopped selling that phone when the Nexus 4 came out last year. In any event, assuming it has not been rooted, go to settings/About Phone/System updates and tap on check now.

I bought it new off of ebay.

That is what I figured, but they stopped producing it a long time ago. The warranty is likely expired. In any event, check as listed above.
