How do I update my phone??

I was told by some people I needed a computer to get updates to my phone is this true?

The update should be OTA (over the air), meaning it will be pushed to your device automatically, unless otherwise announced by T-Mobile. You will receive a software/firmware upgrade notification on your phone. If you haven't received it or have missed it, press Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

I don't have the same phone but the process should be quite similar.

That's what I thought and whenever I try that, it automatically says no update like it doesn't even check

Yes you do need a computer and the Samsung Kies software installed on the phone. Once you connect the device to your computer and launch the Kies software it should alert you that you have an updated version of the Android software available. Please DM me if you have any questions or need help

And how does that work does my pc need a program to do the kies?

Just go the Samsung website and you can find the latest version of Kies software there.
