How do I use Assistant to Read email aloud?

So far as I know, you can't.

My guess is that the typical email would be very difficult for a reader to process. Embedded HTML code, images, tables, and so on, would make for some strange reading.

I tried to ask the assistant to read me my mail when I was not traveling.. It listed the email that was in my inbox but didn't read it aloud. My assistant instruction was READ MY EMAIL ALOUD. It didn't read it aloud, but it listed it. I thought that somehow the Pixel 3 would, with the right instructions or app could do it.

It's not Google Assistant, but you could try using TalkBack; however, that also makes it a bit of a pain to navigate around the phone: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6115187?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en

Speaking of TalkBack, what the heck is an "TalkBack screen reader: Get spoken feedback, control your device with gestures, and type with the on-screen braille keyboard."

How does that even work?

It doesn't look like it is worth the trouble since the times I would need to use it, would be rare. Thanks for helping me make the decision.

I've wondered that before as well. Here's more info: https://www.blog.google/products/android/braille-keyboard/

I'm not sure if it still requires some degree of vision to use, or if it will vibrate under your fingers when they're touching the spots.

Well, that looks interesting. It might even be a good replacement for the standard keyboard after a bit of practice.

But, referring to it as "Braille" is a real stretch, I think...

If I recall, it is a TRAP that is hard to escape!!!!!!! Serioulsy, someone about a year or so ago, posted that they enabled it and could not terminate it. It just kept yabbering. So foolishly I gave it a try. TRAPPED and I could not end it. Went online and found the solution but even then it was not easy killing it. There was a huge and somewhat humorous thread about users' experiences with it. People wanting to stomp on the device, pull out hair and on and on.

I don't know if Google has made it easier to regain control but ............ DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
