How do i view blocked messages on google pixel?

Before the pie update, I would unblock a message and just restart the phone to view the message but now I don't get them anymore. Is there a way to retrieve them?

If you block a number, you never get the message, so there's no message to unblock. You can only unblock the number from now on.
