How do I wake up my phone screen while on a call using BT headset?

Android/Evo newbie here...my phone screen goes to sleep quite quickly while on a call using my headset, which is fine for saving battery life. However, during a call it is common for me to look at my calendar, messages, call log, etc. On my Pre I could just press the space bar (if already open) or open the slider and my screen would wake up; it was as easy as tapping the screen on my Treo because it would still be on in a very dim state. Seems like I have to press my power button to do this on the Evo, which, while it sounds easy, is a little bit of pain while on a call, especially if I only have one hand free.

Am I missing an easier way to wake up the screen while on a call?

Thx!

Nope, you did not miss a thing. The power button is the only way. i actually prefer it that way. Enables me to keep it in my pocket without fear of hanging up on the person i am talking to.

have you tried hitting the power button?

He said he did in his OP

FWIW, I did discover that pressing the volume rocker on the side wakes up the screen; however, it does adjust your volume when you do so.

Just wave your hand over the top of the screen where the proximity censor and light censor are located close to the speaker this will wake up the screen
