Hi I was wondering how the radio works. I have a few theories already.
My first one is that the battery supplies power to the radio component and the firmware tells it how to interact.

That being said I was wondering if there is any way to boost the amount of signal the radio puts out with software or firmware. An example of this would be my old thunderbolt. On stock from the signal would be about -102db. I would turn it on airplane mode and the signal strength went to -122db meaning the radio strength was about 20db. Same thing on the rommed phone except the rom/radio was improved by about 10db.

I guess what I'm wondering is, is there actually a possibility of an improved radio in an update instead of the stupid "were just gonna update the indicator not the actual radio" because I would like some better coverage and an understanding of how these radios work.

Thanks everyone!
