how do you erase items searched on google market?

i have a droid and i cant seem to clear the items searched on the app market. anyone know how?

Don't have aphone here in front of me, but i would try settings-->applications-->manage applications, Scroll to find market and clear data/cache

Great question. I tried to find out how to also, and from what I can see, you can't. I tried what you mention here, and it has no effect. After doing so, all previous searches are still there.

Market is not listed. I wanted to do the same in google maps, but the clear cache option is greyed out.

Root the phone and make the cache save to sd card. then use Astro to clear it manually.

Market is indeed listed. go to settings -> apps -> manage apps. From there, click the menu icon again, click Filter. Then click All - You will then find Market. Click into it and u can clear cache. Whether or not the market saved searches are driven by that cache is another story, but try it out.

also - google maps does allow clearing cache. If it's grayed out that means there is no cache data. I just checked and I can indeed clear cache.

and one more clearning market cache, dont do it, has no effect on the search results. I then tried the default search setting, and cleared that history too but only effects the global search. There must be a way, i'll let u know if i find it

unfortunately, from all i've researched, its just not supported right now i believe. seems like something they should add as that list can grow out of control. Or at the very least is should cap out at a certain number and delete older ones. I can still see my very first market search.

yes this clears the google search but this does not affect the search history in the market application. I tried that already thinking they shared a cache, but they do not.

That will not clear out the search field in the market, I dont think you can.

Yeah, every search ever made in the Market is still showing up. Clearing the cache is like Rainier Wolfcastle wearing the goggles... they do nothing.
