How do you remove light scratches from the screen?

Light scratches from normal usage. They aren't noticeable except under direct sunlight, but I'd still like to remove, or at least reduce them, if at all possible.

it's glass, I've never had any luck taking scratches out of glass.

Not gonna happen. A nice wet application screen protector might help hide it.

I just tried the sandpaper on mine but the scratch seems like it stayed the same, it is even worse? It also seemed to reveal more scratches. Any advice?

Screen guard is the best option, a little shiny screen cover will hide all scratch and protect screen from further damage.

remove screen protector you applied when new, replace with new one...

You can use Jeweler's rouge and an electric buffer (Dremel works) it's a lot of hard work and best left to a professional.

Also, if you already have scratches in your touch screen since you didn't have a screen protector there in the first place ( duh, ), you might check out the compound from these guys. It looks like industrial grade stuff or something of the sort.

I think I would live with it or buy a new phone before I would pay $90 for that compound. I think a screen protector will cover up or lighten most existing scratches.
