How do you shut off sound for calendar reminders?

Open calendar > menu > more > settings > put notification sound to silent

Edit - huh, no silent in notification sounds.

could you not just set the "set alerts & notifications" to Status Bar, instead of "ALERT"?

I have an idea but i want to make sure i understand the OP completely .... Is what your looking for:

1) You want normal status bar notifications
2) you want the normal pop-up reminder
3) You just want to sound deadened?

If this is what you're looking for I'm pretty sure what you can do is create a folder on your SDcard called notifications and place and MP3 file in there that is just a blank sound (aka silent) then set that to be your notification for calendar. I haven't tried this but it seems pretty straight forward in theory.

Yep. I am pretty much looking for the status bar notification and pop ups but with no sound

Ok i just got it to work using the method i posted above.

1) On your PC, Google "Silent MP3". Download any silent MP3 you find.
2) Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable and select "Disk Drive"
3) On your SDcard, place the silent MP3 in Media > Audio > notifications
4) Disconnect your phone
5) Open app drawer and select calendar
6) Menu > More > Settings > Reminder Settings > Select Ringtone > Select the silent mp3 you placed on your SDcard.
