How do you stop it from notifying you about steps and sleep!?!?

Somewhere along the way, an update came around that makes the watch pop up notifications for sleep stats and step/exercise goals with vibration and flashing colorful watch displays.

I am a teacher and I am moving throughout the classroom (I'm very animated). The watch will go off congratulating me of about steps at random times... vibating... lighting up... my arm becomes a glowing orb to distract students.

I have removed all exercise "widgets" from my watch screen. I have searched and can't seem to find this setting. Help!

How do i turn all this off? :-[

Thanks!

-open Samsung Gear app on your phone
-settings
-notifications
-manage notifications
-turn S Health off

That should work, and you will have to be connected to your watch to do this as the app has certain sections greyed out while the watch is disconnected.

I was hopeful. But I got a notification today in class even with it off. :(

Maybe here? Samsung Health, press three dots in top right corner, then there is a notification toggle.

That one didn't work either. During class this evening, it congratulated me on my sleep. Later, it told me to keep up my workout. But.... I might have found it! We'll see tomorrow when I teach again. I realized it is auto-detecting a workout based on my running around the classroom. The sleep thing - no idea.

This is under the Samsung Health three-dot menu, MANAGE ITEMS. I turned off all the exercise trackers.

Hopefully that works for you. Let us know what happens.

Another day of encouraging me to keep moving..... and congratulations for workouts while I'm teaching. So I decided to do some more searching. I found a discussion from late 2016 that pointed to a setting that doesn't exist anymore in S-Health. However, in that search, I noticed this other setting: "Detect Workouts" ... I turned it off.

Why I didn't see that before? No idea. It's labor day weekend. No class until Tuesday. We'll see if this fixes it!

I may have solved. Jeez, please, this must be it.

This afternoon, in my class, there it goes again. Stupid timer running and flashing and saying I'm exercising. I literally started to think I may have to stop wearing this watch.

After class, I was busy so I forgot about it. I went to my evening class. AGAIN, it did it. This time, I tapped and swiped the timer. Nothing! I thought what the heck is the point of this??? Then I did something that caused it to list settings for types of exercise to track like cycling and others. I don't know what I did. I noticed they had the weird little off/on toggles. They were all on. So, IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS, I am carefully turning off each one. Very careful not to close out this settings screen. Turned all of them off. Hit the side button and it went back to the time.

For the remaining 30 minutes of class, it did not show up.

THIS MUST BE IT!!!

Tonight, I tried to find those settings on the watch on my own. I couldn't find them anywhere. I guess I got lucky that it opened a secret portal into those settings.

Please, please, please let this be it!
