How does an app like Sipdroid use 2min CPU, 10min keep awake yet uses 2% of the battery over 24 hrs?

I've been on battery for 24 hours, had 2.5 hrs screen on time, have 33% remaining battery and it says Sipdroid has used 2% of the battery. But Sipdroid's use has consisted of:

1m 57s CPU
34s CPU foreground
10m 27s Keep awake

It's barely been running, yet it's used 2% of the 67% of lost battery?! How is this?

Call me dense, but I'm not sure I understand your question (though I love the descriptive thread title). Are you happy with those stats, or mad about them? I'd be pretty pleased with any app that only used 2% of my juice after running for 24 hours with 33% left over. Looks like it's run for about 12 1/2 minutes, which isn't long at all, but maybe is really cranks away on the cpu's while it's active???

How is Sipdroid doing for you? Do your calls sound great, OK, or do they suck? I'm getting somewhere between OK and great most of the time on GrooveIP, but every once in a while they absolutely suck.

Sipdroid is a sip client which keeps connections alive to receive phone calls. You should thank that it only consumed 2%.

Not mad or happy. I'm just wondering how the math works out. To explain:

- over the last 24 hours, the CPU has been running for all 24 hours (some cores might have been idling)
- According to battery stats, Sipdroid has used the CPU for a total of about 13 minutes.
- 13 minutes is 0.9% of 24 hours, not 2%

So the math doesn't add up. (But I think I just figured it out. When SipDroid's running, maybe it uses all 4 cores and therefore more battery life, while most of the time, only 1-2 cores are running?)

As for Sipdroid:

- all the "techy" people think it sounds fine (although they all hear an echo which I can only get rid of by turning down my front-speaker volume)
- all the non-techy people hate it. They say it sounds like I'm at the end of a tunnel (and they hate the echo)

So I only use it for calling stores and customer service, etc. For friends I either use Vonage (generally good quality but cannot get incoming calls) or wait till I'm at a land line.

That's honestly not that bad. It was awake for 10 minute
