How encryption works in file manager?

Here I'm asking about es file explorer. If I encrypt any file using this file explorer, will it be safe? They claim to use 256 bit encryption. And also if I send my encrypted files over internet will it stay safe?

And does es explorer uploads our files or password used to encrypt files to their server?
