I have a SGS4G and I get 4 bars in most of Long Island (or at least the parts I go to often), and my average speeds are between 3 and 8 megs down, 1-1.5 up.

Ran my first speed test on the phone and 9+mbps. Thought it was wrong so I ran it multiple times, same results. Never have seen over 5 and most times 3. This was 5 in the afternoon. I was impressed.

The reason I ask is that I might get this phone and I would be coming from verizon and 4g so it looks like that hspa+ is slower then lte but faster the 3g us that correct

I'd love to answer this question, but the speed test app refuses to run on the HSPA One X.
It starts, then stops painting the graph, coughs up some rediculous small number like 4K, then proceeds to successfully complete the upload test.

I suspect AT&T, but I can't prove it.

I get about 6-11mbps down on hspa+ and 18-23mbps down on lte.

Hspa+ is way faster than Verizon's evdo (3g) network but is technically slower than their lte network, even though in actual use in my area vzws lte network is only pulling hspa+ speeds on my friends gnex's when we do speed tests.

In the King of Prussia area.... I haven't seen more than 3.5 mbps down... and sadly, that's at home where I have wifi. I was hoping for a better network (especially in such a big place and being very close to Philladelphia). In fact, setting here at my desk at work (right next to huge windows), I get a whopping .15 mbps down. The speed test app usually times out, in fact.

HSPA+ speeds are FAR slower than LTE speeds. I travel a lot and get to use both. HSPA I usually clock around 3-4 MBPS average speeds. LTE I average around 18-20 MBPS. Difference is tremendous. Sitting in Denver right now. No LTE so quite a bit slower speeds. Off to Chicago tomorrow though so should have LTE again.
