Okay, so.... I have had the Moment for the last year, and was on my second one (pretty sure I bricked my first one, but got away with getting a new one for free!) until a couple of weeks ago when my "new" Moment that I just got in December quit charging right, and holding a charge when I could get it to charge. So, a friend had this little cheap Reclaim that she let me use until I'm eligible for an upgrade at the end of this month. What I'm wondering is this.....

While I had a lot of fun playing with all the awesome stuff I could do with my Moment, especially after rooting it.... it was also pretty much a huge pain in my ass!

Now, this new Evo looks pretty incredible. However, I live in the middle of nowhere and don't even get 3G coverage, much less 4G. So, is this phone so incredible that it's worth me paying an extra $10 a month to deal with all the same hassles I had with the Moment?? Or, is it possibly in my best interest to just abandon the whole smart phone/android thing and stick with something simple like this piece of crap, boring, Reclaim I'm using for the time being? haha

Any thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks! :-\

The new OS's assume you have a fast network connection. If you search here for Airave -- a tiny cell tower you install in your house and connect to a broadband internet service -- you'll see some people have gotten them for free because they were in a bad signal area. Of course, that only covers you at home...

I actually talked to them about the Airrave a few months back, and at first was told I couldn't get one because I'm in an area that they don't think it would help at all in. I'm roaming all the time.... (which hasn't been addressed yet, but I'm waiting for it) and I guess that's why. However, I was speaking with a very rude representative who actually ended up hanging up on me, so I called back and spoke with a very nice gentleman who was going to send me the Airrave and let me try it, but found out I was on the spending limit program, and wasn't eligible for it. Now that I'm off the spending limit program, I really need to call back and see if they will send me one I guess. I realize this was a very long response, just to tell you "thanks" for the link and for the advice!
