How have you gotten the most out of your Google Home?

TLDR: I basically have a two-part question. One, what have you guys found to be some of the best uses for your Google Home? Second, what have you found to be some of your best devices or systems to connect with the Home?

I just got a Home and already have a Pixel, Chromecast, and Google Wifi. I'm beginning to research what should be my next investments but the options are a bit overwhelming to say the least. I'm eyeing the newest Honeywell Lyric thermostat for a smart thermostat. And the new security kit from Ring looks reasonably priced. Ideally, I would like to only have one additional hub that can then connect to a majority of any devices I would like to command via Home. But I'm not sure if that should be Wink or Smartthings or something else. My basic needs are home security and a smart thermostat. So if I can have a hub I can control all of those things with that then hooks into my Google Home that's pretty much what I want. Seems like it would be more challenging to have a individual thermostat, and then a security system with a hub, and then other piece meal items that are somehow cobbled together and commanded via Home, but yet I still have to have proprietary apps for all of these things to get more finite control and data. I would love to hear what other people have found useful, good devices to use, shortcuts, etc. Thanks!

I mainly use mine to control my lights, send Netflix to my TV, play music, and call my mom lol

I just picked one up. mostly use it to make phone calls, recipes, music, and to play games with the kids. Couldn't get the broadcast feature to work yet though. I would also like to get some smart lighting but that's a little later down the road as it's a bit expensive.
