How I get >40hrs of Battery Life Per Charge!

The posts by those saying you can get this time by using wifi and not using the phone are not what this post is about. This post is about how I can easily achieve over 40 hours WITH use and is meant to help others find what they might doing wrong to not get anywhere near that time. Sure Screen On Time and Voice Call # has a major impact, we all know that and updating to 4.04 doesn't affect that. But 4.04 update does affect overall battery usage where I now get about 10 more hours per cycle.
Running the phone down to 5% (STANDARD BATTERY mind you) I just got 46 HOURS on a charge.
That includes 1hr 35m of Voice Calls and 1hr 5m of On Screen Time. Yes I don't use my phone for games, I don't use it to look at Words with Friends for 2 hours each day, I use it for emailing, texting, voice calls and web browsing.
So to recap what I originally posted. If you employ WIFI for your home/work, you'll achieve better battery life since you aren't employing the power hungry 3G/4G antennas. If you upgrade to 4.04 you'll also achieve a large battery life difference.

1hr 35m of Voice Calls
1hr 5 min of Screen Time
1 DAY 21 HRS 54 MIN of uptime until I got to 5% battery on a standard battery
It took 90 minutes to recharge back to 100%

Jesus. How often is it going into deep sleep? I presume a lot lol

Thanks. I'm not the most technical with rooting and such so I wanted to wait for the official update to come out but man that 75% after 12 hours of use is pretty drool worthy:)

me neither. it's not that hard, but it seems to easy to brick your phone lol

there isn't any pressing issue that's so serious that i can't wait for the official update anyway.

Immediate difference I see in the stats it's the android os is very low use. It's huge on my phone and every other screen shot I've seen. Hopefully 4.0.4 is the fix.

Exactly.

Everything else is nonsense; Android OS always has been the main issue with this phone and battery life.

Yup. Go into the OS use and see the wake time (or whatever it's phrased). THAT's the killer IMHO. I average ~19-20% over like 4-5 hours. Only taken it past 4-5 hours a handful of times, all with franco's kernel (my best was 76% with 9 hours of battery time).

It reminds me of the old days when I'd try something new on the computer, screw it up and then have to start from scratch.

Ahh, fond memories of the uncountable amount of times I wiped and reinstalled Windows on my old Dell desktop.

OK now 3 hour screen on time is pretty impressive! I usually top off wherever I am and whenever I can, but I bet I could get maybe an hour and a half MAX of screen on time, :( I really cant wait for 4.0.4 update after reading a ton of posts about how much better the battery life got after people flashed 4.0.4

I have straight stock 4.0.2 and about half of my data is done on wifi. I did not get battery life like that in the beginning but now it pretty much everyday that I get roughly the same 13 or 14 hours with 3 to 3 1/2 hours screen on time.....with the extended battery.

how do you get it to stay alive for 3.5 hours?! Do you think that's all due to the wifi use vs 4g?

That's a reasonable guess; wifi saves so much when compared to 4G.

Over obsessed with battery you guys are. Might as well treat like dumb phone no apps no widgets no sync. The battery isn't rated for these crazy stats. Stop being paranoid about enjoy your phone carry a battery and charge it every chance u can.

I disagree! If you want to obsess over batter life, then do it! If you want to ROM it, have at it! If you want to use it as hard as you can and not worry about it, no problem! It's your phone and your experience, make it what you want it to be.

Yeah, sorry everyone. 4.0.4 is not the battery messiah. I installed it. It's got great bug fixes. Drastically improved battery life is not one of them.

Might be better off installing Franco's kernel if you're rooted. That thing messes around with voltages and has other optimizations.
