Iam thinking of using auto brightness because of the dynamic lighting I experience during the day. Does auto brightness drain the battery? Did you find it useful?

I find that it works, is invaluable outdoors, and I also get good battery life.

What brightness is best suited for outdoors, in sunny days? Higher or lower

Sometimes I find I can't see what im shooting while shooting, especially in macro mode (focus) (insects etc) when the sun is blistering.

Since I got mine I've had it on auto and forgotten about it. Works well for me. Never a problem with battery life.

Yes, a brighter screen will have a negative impact on your battery, so if you can keep the brightness turned down, you'll have a longer lasting battery.

I haven't been happy with the stock auto brightness so I paid for LUX. It does a better job of correcting in my opinion, but yes, I always set my phone to auto. However, my eyes need more light to see now days, so sometimes I have to shake it to make it brighter. With LUX, you can set it to shake to brighten. (Another cool feature I like.)
