I'm thinking about picking one up again but how are the lag and random pauses situation now? Crashing? I heard this was much improved under marshmallow.

I bought a N9 on launch day and the thing we horrible with lag and crashes. Didn't matter if I factory reset on flashed stock images it just sucked for about six months and I sold it. Loved the hardware though.

Haven't had (knock on wood) issues after wiping the tablet clean and installing M (6.0). My tablet is running VERY smoothly and it is how it should have been out of the box. Not sure if others are having issues, but I'm good :)

Seems good to me! Of course, I bought the tablet used and it already had Marshmallow. I took the plunge when on a recent podcast, one of the AC boys mentioned that under Marshmallow, the N9 was FINALLY a right proper tablet.

It really is! We're talking about two weeks since I downloaded MM 6.0 and no issues! Even Chrome browser isn't as bad as it was. I have occasional hiccups using it but not nearly as bad as before. This is why I bought the N9... for this kind of functionality and performance.

I hope this is true. I'll update mine next week after I return to the States. Five wipes since I bought it in January (open box). Each time, it was good for about four weeks then lags, reboots, crashes with/without Chrome. Out of warranty but if M doesn't "fix" it, I'm going for my cc extra year warranty to either fix it or refund cost.

I can attest it's much much better on 6.0. Fast and fluid. But annoyingly aggressive ram management is still an issue. It doesn't seem to hold more than 2 or 3 apps in memory at a time. Chrome will literally reload all open tabs if it ends up beyond the third position of most recent apps. I've also got an Air 2 and its night and day. I can open up apps I haven't opened in days and I'm right back where I left it immediately without any reloading.

Apart from that thoug, it really is a much improved experience.

I completely forgot it had only 2gb of RAM.

Habit browser is way better than Chrome no reloading of tabs. Bigger amount of RAM won't help if app is badly written

Mine just came with 5.1.1 on board. It hung a few times straight away and I was thinking "here we go". A couple of the little updates and then 6.0 and all the hiccups seem to have gone. Very happy.

Mine is way better now on marshmallow. It's like a whole different tablet! I am finally happy with it now 😀..... a year later😢
