How is the gallery organized under the albums tab? It doesn't seem to have any sense to it, it just looks like all the albums are randomly placed.

I could be wrong but I think it's either alphabetical or it's Camera photos then alphabetical.
Right now my gallery has only two albums (Camera and Screenshots) so it's hard to say

I have a file manager app with an explorer type function for files and they're arranged from what I can tell, in folders. Like the screenshot are in their own folder compared to the camera. The screen shots and anything you save online is in "pictures" and the camera shots are in their own folder in the DCIM standard camera folder. I have another file that syncs with google+ pictures I've put in my wall; they're now on my phone in a folder.

There needs to be a way to remove folders from the gallery app. I have album art in everyone of my mp3 folders because certain apps don't read the art correctly, which causes Android to import 2,000 unnecessary photos that show up when I don't need them. Plus, my Blogger photos also don't need to be there but are also apparently unremovable, which needs to be fixed.

yeah, my coworker returned his GNex over mis-management of photos, also said his phone locked up doing so.

Why don't you just download QuickPic (free) and use it instead of the Gallery. It lets you sort as well as hide folders. You can also sort the images in each folder.

Use a file manager and add an empty text file named .nomedia to those folders. Should work. (Assuming that trick still works)

I created my own folders for my different pictures so I have a ton of folders in the gallery. The camera photos do come first, but my photo folders aren't alphabetical. It just seems random.

I tried this for that problem and it didn't work. I also tried naming the album art ".albumart.jpg" and that didn't work.

under the pictures folder I have sub folders that I transferred over to the device.

So under pictures my structure is like this:

pictures\
\kids baseball game
\Toys for Tots Event
\Misc
\Halloween 2011

non of these subfolders appear as galleries with the stock app.
I thought the device would just scan and find them.
The video app did it, even thought I am going to use mvideoplayer for organization of videos.

How do you get the device to see photo sub folders?
