How is the headset volume on the Moto X Pure edition when in a call (no speakerphone, no ear buds, just holding the phone up to your head). My Nexus 5 has horrendously low volume to where if there is any noise around I have to plug in ear buds or switch to speakerphone.
Trying to decide between the upcoming Nexus 5P and this phone. Kinda think the Pure Edition has the edge for me at this point.

I have no issues either. I hear everything loud and clear. I love speaking with someone who has HD calling enabled. Makes for some of the clearest conversations ever.

No issues with me. It's pretty much identical to the earpiece volume of the 2014 Moto X so I haven't noticed any difference.

Pretty low for me also, and it is accompanied with some background static noise. Really trying to figure out of this is normal for the MXPE, or I mine (original and replacement) both have a problem. I have good hearing, and there is no way that I would ever use the MXPE at less than max volume. This is only though the handset earpiece, audio is fine through wired headset, Bluetooth headset, and even speaker phone.

How does advanced calling add static? Are you on VZW? I have found that Advanced calling is incredibly clear. I thought advanced calling was an almost separate type of call from say 1xrtt CDMA that vzw uses. VoLTE is put through the data network,no? I don't see how one could affect the other in reference to static. Someone please chime in , cause I am no expert. Maybe this is carrier dependant?
