I was thinking of bringing out the old N5 and trying out Android M to see if battery life and performance are improved.

I have an S6 now but it has become really laggy. May brush off the old N5 to see how smooth the previews are

It running well surprisingly. I used a zip from xda to install it. PM me and I'll shoot you the link.

I did the same and am shocked how polished and smooth it is. My N5 seems snappier than my G4 or OPO. I loaded it with my work apps and pulling Gmail, and exchange with Nine and a most of the apps I have on my G4. Battery life seems much better especially on standby time.

Yup. I'm fining that the N5 is running smoother than my S6 at the moment. Marshmallow may actually make Android as smooth as IOS. Haven't used it as a daily yet though.
