That's how it was with my OG EVO. Switch to 4G and there goes your battery.

I am getting about 6 hours on lte but I was doing a lot of flashing and on screen test driving the lte so gimme a few days to get back to normal mid to heavy usage lately just been heavy usage

Plus, what we need to know also is the *standby* battery life while on LTE vs on 3G. Many people will go many hours without using any data apps. I could live with it sucking some additional battery while actively using data, but if it greatly affects standby time, I will be very unhappy. The standby time on 3G is just fantastic.

I'm not noticing a big fall off from my normal 14 hours.

I haven't noticed a difference in lte vs 3g in battery life but man is the 4G smoking fast so even if it starts to kill my battery I won't care lol

Thank you for your post...if I can ask a foolish question...you mention smoking fast...can you give me a real life example...do you mean downloading a Web page or music...just curious

It should standby in 3g since you don't need data like that. And when you click on the screen the LTE should kick back on. Not like WiMAX where it would just idle off in standby.

What do you mean "it should"? Are you saying it would be nice if that is how it were programmed? Sounds like an interesting possible option, like "3G, 4G, auto 3/4G".

I can really notice the speed difference in Web browsing, it honestly reminds me of when I upgraded from dial up Internet to broadband

That many people not have wimax? Yeah 4G is fast...LTE looks faster than Wimax....speed won't be a concern.

It sounds like actively using that speed on LTE will hit your battery but standby doesn't take that much of a hit.
