How long did your Note 3 last?

...Or is it still going strong? My iPhone 5 was 2 years old and still worked great besides a dwindling battery life and having an annoyingly small screen. I just switched to a Note 4 and I'm hoping I can expect it to last just as long.

I won't have to worry about batteries obviously, but anyone have any issues with speed slowing or your Note becoming glitchy etc after X amount of time? I only know of friends who have old Galaxy S3's or S4's that are going strong, don't know any Note users.

I have Safestrap installed on my Note 3, and a few ROMs. I have apps that are frozen, apps I just don't (and probably never will) use, but haven't installed yet, so I have only about 9GB of internal storage left, and no complaints. The phone is about 11 months old. The first one had a very short life - about a week - and it was replaced. An OTA update did that one in after a few weeks. This one has been banged on software- and firmware-wise [I even accidentally flashed a keyboard as a ROM - that was a nervous 10 seconds, thanks to Safestrap] and I expect to keep it at least 3 or 4 more years. (I've kept my V-551 for 10-1/2 years and it still works fine.)

My Note 3 is still doing fine. I've had mine for just over a year now. The only issue I've had is the proximity sensor getting dirty. I was able to blow into the speaker when it happened a few months ago and fix it, but it started happening again and it looks like I'm going to have to do a tear down to clean the area. I just bought a new battery as well as I felt the performance of the original was starting to drop. I do like that I can carry a spare just in case. I've had no other issues.

Over a year and zero problems and zero lagging. I am running Nova launcher as the biggest modification to the phone. I have 180 apps installed and 7.52gb of space available. I have a 64gb card with all pictures, music, and movies on it. Still have 35.48gb of space left on that. But I take movies off after watching them and replace. Could still probably hold like 20 more movies on the space I have left at my typical converted file size.

EPIC

Just as an update: Took my phone apart (about 20 min total time invested) and cleaned the proximity sensor area. Easy to do and now it works perfect. I think I'll see if I can remember to put my phone in my pocket with the speaker aimed down and see if that helps out for keeping that area cleaner.

Yep,had mine about a year now...1. its still very fast and no lags etc...2. still love it,no problems at all....3. I have an upgrade available but have no intention of using it at this time, probs keep this phone for 2-3 years at least.

My Note 3 about a few days. I bought it from a local seller and everything was working good, and everything was working. Until one night the screen would not turn on. I thought the battery was dead, but after leaving it on the charger for hours the phone screen refuses to turn on. I tried going to recovery mode, hitting it, opening it up and making sure the cables were intact, dropping it multiple times, and nothing. So I'm about to spend $260 to have the screen replaced

How do you have 9GB left??? I'm at 344MB, Safestrap, rooted (obviously), stock. 29.55GB Misc files, of which 29.08GB is System memory. WTH? What ROM are you using?

I have had my N3 since Feb 2014. It has been in a case since day one.
It is still going strong, have not noticed any slow done in processor speed at all. The battery still can get me thru almost 2 days.

I think the dust got in from the gap between screen and the side faux metal ring. My partner's note 3 has a case that covers the gap and its adc value is still nearly zero after a year. Mine is naked, sans screen protector, and its adc value had been hovering around 90-100 6 months after purchase.

I also took apart the phone to clean the dust, now I put a skin protector to cover the gap, we shall see if it stops dust.

Other than that, the phone is great. It's been 13 months, my battery still last 6-8 hrs screen on, probably still holds >95% of the original capacity.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a adc value?

Its the numeric value for the proximity sensor, when nothing is covering it, it should read zero, the value increases to thousands when the proximity sensor is covered.

The phone, it seems, uses a value of ~90 as the threshold. If its less than 90, the phone thinks the proximity sensor is clear, if its over 90, the phone thinks the proximity sensor is covered.

I've had my Note 3 for about 9 or 10 months now and I just love it! It works just fine. However, I've been thinking about getting a Note 4 only because I want it, not because I have any great need or because there is anything wrong with my Note 3. I'm just that way ...LOL! Always want the latest phone ....LOL!

Yeah I'm loving my Note 4! On one hand it'll be great for it to be long lasting, but I also like getting the "latest and greatest" so I guess I won't need it to last to long lol. At least until I'm eligible for my next upgrade

I have used my note 3 for 4 years and it's still in a great condition unless the battery sometimes drains so fast. I've dropped it several times and nothing happen. No lagging. I might use it for 3-4 years at least.

I've had my Note 3 for nearly 2 and a half years. It started to slow around the time of the last firmware upgrade, which I was resisting. My provider told me to go ahead but everything got worse since. I have to stop working so my phone can tell me I took out the s pen 10 seconds previously, it's generally slower and I have to press harder on the screen (and cannot increase sensitivity). On the plus side, I haven't noticed battery drainage and I've dropped it without consequences, albeit in a case. The worst new feature is that I no longer get texts by line in the notification bar. I do get emails, which is very irritating. I'm open to suggestions for putting it back how it was. I loved it so much!
