How Long Is HTC Going To Keep Early Upgraders Hanging?

When that official OTA hits my phone. I'm waiting it out, phone works fine with the leak. The moment a root method is available for either .3 or .6, I'm on it :)

Ditto... I so regret putting this crap on my phone. I miss my Wifi Tether (root). Live and learn, I guess.

I'm so friggin pissed right now. Kicking myself for having ever installed that worthless update. Ever since the update I've noticed a significant decrease in battery and performance, no doubt thanks in no small part to the fact that it does whatever the hell it wants to, ie opens tons of programs no matter how many times I kill them with the task killer. I mean I literally kill the app and watch open back up almost instantaneously even with auto kill, compound that with that crap facebook put out and youve got one hell of a headache. I even factory reset and re installed every thing accomplishing absolutely nothing. Oh yeah and the best part only corporate stores have access to the fix at the moment and of course there isn't one of those even remotely near by. AWESOME! Sorry just needed to blow off some steam while I not so patiently wait for my fix. I'll be glad when CM6 goes official. I'm done with early release builds and betas for a while. Well thanks in advance to any of those who take the time to read this rant, especially to any of those that may have any advice to offer. Peace.

My advice, stop crippling your phone and educate yourself on android. the reason those apps keep opening is because when you updated your phone it wiped all knowledge of your daily activities so it is starting from scratch. it opens them loads them into memory, then when you dont use them over time it remembers and wont start them anymore. you are crippling your own phone and you dont even know it. task killers are for applications that are hung, not for you to kill whatever you choose. Typical ignorant people get task killers and then kill apps every hour. you know you waste more battery because android just starts it right back up? if you would leave it in memory (not draining any battery) android sleeps then app then eventually kills it if it needs the space. android filling applications with memory is not draining your battery. educate yourself on your OS or keep complaining about issues that you are DIRECTLY CAUSING... lmao

Wow the anger is out tonight lol..where did you get that info about the os from, I would like to educate myself on the os. I'm not a task killer guy but if what your saying is true then that would explain alot.

No regrets here. I'm lovin' the Froyo as it's been working great on my phone. The only benefit to having .6 over .3 for me will to be "back on track."

Therefore, no anger from me. Just peace and love!

Forget .3, forget .6, I would just love to be back on 1.47 fully root with Wifi Tether. That would be just fine by me.

I'm glad I'm on the .3...no issues at all. Received my Seidio extended 3500 battery today and my Evo has just become perfect! Got the Froyo and juice to back it up!

Very easy to do. This link will get you there

Even though you are already "stock" this will tell you how to easily flash an earlier stock (official) ROM of your choosing. Then you can use any of the simple root methods for the earlier ROMS. Then you can even flash the latest Rooted 2.2 HTC ROM. Its really not hard to do at all.

WOW.... Go get'em....... lol

Rc46 so would that work to get back to stock 1.47 without root? If so wouldn't it have been easier to just roll your own OS back than depend on Sprint and just let the ota do its magic ?

Check out the top of the first post of the issues sticky. Lots of links in there.

Thanks...good read yet the misinformation about the OS could be very confusing. Either way I have took this way off topic...as I was akin a post or so ago is it possible to flash back to official 2.2 in the same method rooted phones do to get back to stock.

Anyhoo, in case no one bothered to see the tweet linked a page back, here is what HTC had to say an hour ago:

If you who installed an unofficial update on EVO last week, we working on a simple, effortless solution. Please bear with us a bit longer.

I hope the coders know their language better than the tweeter knows his. Unless Drunk Hulk is handling their PR.

Have to admit that's not bad for whoever tweeting is probably from Taiwan and english perhaps is his or her 2nd 3rd or fifth language..

Not only that, it's Twitter ffs, not some official email or blurb posted on sprint's website.

The wait is over!!! All who had "Eight days after the official Froyo OTA happens" in the pool, please come to the ticket window to collect your winnings. :)
