How Long Is HTC Going To Keep Early Upgraders Hanging?

What's interesting is that I've been reading about the issues that people are having with the OTA update, and I've had NONE of these with what I've installed on my EVO. Maybe I'll stick with what I have ...

My .3 has had absolutely no issues besides the browser being slightly sluggish (because of flash 10.1 same problem on .6) so the moral of the story is be an ******* and upgrade early and profit. Or be a goody two shoe and wait like your supposed to and fail.

Same here no issues with .3. I'm gonna flash the rooted .3 in a few minutes and be done with it.

The way I look at things is that I did not update early. We were all told that the update would come out on Friday and it did. It came out via a download link straight from HTC. We were also told that we could manually upgrade early or wait for the OTA, I assumed that the link HTC provided was the early update. Not my fault HTC released the wrong version to us. It's not I like we broke into the candy store and stole it, it was freely given and then they tried to be Indian givers and take it back.. Ya good luck with that. My version is working just fine, I'm not to worried about the push update.

I guess I really don't understand the big deal in the upgrade. From what I've seen so far, there really isn't any difference between the two versions.

So why worry or rush about getting the official OTA. My rooted version from XDA is just as good.

And nicely done OP. The "upgrade your whiz" was a nice touch....LOL.

guess Im in the minority then, my OTA has been 100% trouble free since I updated last night.

How can HTC "punish" early adopters lol. I installed it before they released the whole "don't do it".

Anyhow, I think HTC will hit us early guys last just because it probably takes more effort.

Mines been 100% trouble free as well, I do notice the battery life is shorter though... I did turn off gtalk today, so maybe that will help some. I want the final version (genuine update from htc) but its fine as it is. And a HUGE improvement.

Dear MIKE HILL,

I do understand how important it is to be able to receive the official update to FroYo rather than the unofficial one that you installed. It's perfectly okay, everyone makes mistakes and I don't blame you for wanting to have the software on your device as soon as possible; these updates are always exciting. We have actually worked with Sprint on this to determine the best process to help you and others that have installed the early version. It has been determined that the best way to proceed would be for you to take your phone to your nearest Sprint Service Center. They are best equipped to help you by rolling the software back to the old version, and from there you should be able to receive the update as normal. Please remember that the update is being released in waves, so it may not quite be time for your official update yet. However, by this process you will be able to receive the official update.

It has been one day guys...they have to build a newer signed package for people that are running .3 . Plus it seems to me that there really isn't any thing new... Other then .6 is the one everyone is working on rooting..which isn't out yet. It's all good....

Lol, no thanks.

With the info and knowledge at XDA there has to be an easy way to rollback and then wait for the official update to be pushed to your phone, that is for non-rooted phones.
