How Long Is HTC Going To Keep Early Upgraders Hanging?

Maybe this question has already been answered, but why does it matter? Has anyone identified a difference in the versions, other than the version number itself?

Matters to me because my leaked update has quite a few bugs. My videos all play back choppy as hell, widgets reload on the homepage randomly, my web browser is starting to crash even if it's not a Flash site, the gallery takes forever to load the thumbnails, vignette gallery flat out doesn't load the thumbnails and if I try to open a picture it freezes. There's some other issues too. I need the official update. Learned my damn lesson from this nonsense to just wait for the official updates.

I'm sorry that you are having these problems and I know what I'm about to say doesn't help or mitigate your issues, but I have experienced none of the problems you have. To the contrary, my Evo on 365.3 has been every bit as stable as it ever was.

I hope we get the update soon for your sake. Really, I do, 'cause we don't need it for mine.

More than likely you're going to continue to have issues even with the official official version. The bulk of people with either update do not seem to have such issues and little is known about what the differences are in the two builds. They are probably very insignificant because they only changed the super minor build number.

You probably need to look at what else is going on with your phone. You probably have some 3rd party app that is causing the issues. A hard reset should probably be your next step if you haven't tried that already.

I loaded the .3 build and it worked nice, at first. Now I get force closure notifications for some apps, music stops (slacker, and music) when navigating, some force close notifications that come in will cause the phone to reboot. Need the official also..

I have the suspicion that they'll wait to isolate bugs from the .6 build, then release a small patch to get everyone on the same page once again.

Mine's fine. haven't noticed anything adverse. I'm not in a hurry at all for the official version for those that updated early.

Aside from the pathetic battery life and oversensitive orientation sensor, mine is working fine as well.

I installed .3 about an hour after it was announced and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I actually think the battery life got better for me. If that email is true about taking it to sprint to reset your phone, can't you just do a factory reset? Or download the OS from the HTC web site and install? That will wipe your phone anyways.

Since we are stuck with the .3 release can it be rooted? I kinda want to try out a custom Rom while I wait

Will Sprint role us back and then install froyo or can I walk out the store after its role back.....missing my root. Not mush of a difference between 2.1 and 2.2 lol I can't bereaved I ha e.up root for .3 lol .........do any one know is anyone is working on rooting the froyo.yoyo lol

Well picked up my Evo from Sprint and it now has the OTA Froyo instead of the early version.

So is there any point to getting my phone rolled back?

I did the .3 upgrade even after seeing (and retweeting) the HTC warning. I haven't had any problems and enjoyed making fun of my Droid X toting friends all weekend :p

Yes, there would be an advantage of rolling back. With 1.47, you have the opportunity to root your phone. You don't have that luxury with any of the official froyo builds (.3 and .6).

If you don't care about rooting, then I see no advantage :)

I have no desire to root. My only reason for rolling back would be to do the OTA to .6, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem worth the bother.

Just got confirmation that from my local Sprint store that they can roll me back to 1.47 and not push the official OTA.

Crossing my fingers!!!
