How long should my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge charge for the first time

I've just got my new Samsung Galaxy s6 edge mobile phone , it's taking a long time to charge first time , is that normal .

It should not take more than an hour or two, depending on how much charge was in the battery in the first place.
If it takes substantially longer than that, you may have a defective charger, USB lead, battery, or device. If so, the warranty will take care of it.
