How long til atrix unlocked?

i *think* i remember that after a given time on a contract (6mo/1yr ?), with the account in good standing, the carrier has to give the unlock code upon request.

i last did it with a moto v3xx on t-mobile, and my cingular branded sierra data card.

still true? if still true, will it be easier to get rid of bloatware and be able to install locked out apps? maybe not have to root the phone?

you can uninstall bloatware now...

*menu
*settings
*applications
*manage applications
*click on bloatware you want to remove
*uninstall

You can also install "locked out" apps by putting your phone in airplane mode, turning wifi back on and then connecting to the market (assuming you are talking about apps that AT&T hides in the market)
