How many times does ATT need to contact me about my bill?

Hey everyone!

After my first few months with ATT I took a few moments to tkae a look at last month. Service os been GREAT! They fixed any issues with my account, price matched my GSIII and so on. But I only have one question for all of you ATT vets out there...

How many damn times do they need to contact you about you owning them money?

After my bill finally posted I was contacted MANY times.


Email - I got a copy of my bill sent to me. Just like I asked!

SMS Message - After it had posted I had gotten text message. Great! I saw it a few days later after the email.

Real Mail - Yes I got a letter with the balance of my bill....

Then I got an email asking me to CALL 611 ASAP...This is where I started to notice it. It didnt say why or anything when I came to information. So I called them half way into a meeting thinking maybe you know something on my account changed? Guess what? I was calling for them to tell me that I owed them money....Now please note that my bill was not due until July 17th and it was on July 2nd....

So now with then ending of the billing cycle coming to an end and it has been paid for about a week now will I see this every month? Emailing me copies of the bills and text messages are ok but sending me an email to call them is just not cool in my book. I told that to the CS rep and said its not like its late...Then he tells me they are allowed to contact me this way to remind me. Is this the norm? I mean I don't wanna not call and have things on my account change without me okaying it. I guess its sort of a short rant.

Plus they didn't make me pay a deposit so its not like my credit is bad...Years with Sprint and I never had anything like this happen. Just annoyed I guess! :P

Any thoughts?
 
You could sign up for auto pay and never hear from them again! ;-)

Just like collection systems, most of these things are down automatically. My student loans company Sallie Mae calls me about 10 plus times a day. I am fighting alot of what they are charging because i feel it is unjust, but that is a different topic.

I was talking to them and while i was on the phone with them, their automatic system called me three times, and then again not even a min after a i hung up with them.

These autosystems do suck, so that would be my thought on why.

Thanks for the reply guys! I really hope its a one time deal. I guess I will deal with them for now this month. I have no issues paying my bill. So I hope they see that!

Student loans I am sure can be a pain in the ass too! I hope it all turns out well for you Verd!
 
Since I've been with AT&T, all I've gotten in terms of a bill is the paper one that's sent through the mail. I haven't gotten any calls or texts. That doesn't seem normal.

Thats what I thought! I mean its not like it was past the due date. It was 2-3 weeks before it was even due. They did end up getting there money on time with no issue. They made me go through a credit check so you would think they would know that they will have their money. Plus like many others its my connection to the world both for my personal life and work. So its something that I need and couldn't chance having it turned off. If I had a deposit or something then I would understand. If you miss a payment then you don't get it back....But that is not my case! as my credit is pretty with all things considering. Anyways it was just annoying. Thats all really.

Otherwise ATT has been great! In both CS in my local corp store and signal in my area.

If they do it again next month I will call and to see what 611 says! :P I just wont be angry about it. As its not their fault more of the system. But like someone said...It was prolly done in error anyways. So I am not to worried about it.
 
That does sound strange. I've been with AT&T since 1996 & have never had them call me at all. I opted for paperless billing, so nothing in the mail. The only thing I get is an email, a text & a notification from the My AT&T app because I opted for it.

All I get from AT&T is the email. No SMS--never have.

I signed up for text alerts. I couldn't figure out how to opt out, but I only get one a month so it doesn't bother me.

Just reply STOP then it will take you off of the list. Otherwise call 611 and they can turn it off too.
