how MUCH better is the inspire than a blackberry bold?

I am tired of my inspire barely getting through a day, battery-wise. I like having a real keyboard on my Samsung Propel a year ago, and I'm thinking about switching to a Blackberry 9700. I mainly use the phone to text, tweet, check facebook, get directions, scan barcodes, and occasionally watch tv shows. I like having different text messaging tones for different contacts. I've never had a blackberry before, but I've read a lot on forums about how people are moving to android from blackberry and they'll never go back. Is it really that much worse? Please advise a newbie.

i went from bb to android and i will never go back, blackberries aren't very pleasing to the eye and so much more can be done from an android phone

I recently just made the switch to the inspire from a BB9700 and I am quite satisfied with it,With the execption of the battery, Witch will take some time to adjust.IMO....inspire kicks the s**t out of the BB9700 in more ways than one. Im gonna use my 9700 for a paperweight! I will never go back to OS5 on BB again. I mean sure you can run a hacked version of BB6 but the memory leaks in the OS are hidius. After having the inspire for about a week now, I can honestly say I love this device!......makes my bb9700 feel so 90'ish and outdated. just my 2 cents.:D

Coming from a bold9000, I can say that the only thing the blackberry has going for for it that the inspire does not is form factor, if that's what you're looking for. I think its important to get to know your phone before you make a firm judgement on it. I've been on my inspire for two weeks and I like everything better. Typing is a work in progress but its more of a feel thing, I think my wpm is about the same. Internet and video are lightyears ahead of the bold, the app market is far better, and its much more customizable. I'd utilize your full 30 day trial to test out an inspire, then decide if you can live with a blackberry

i came from a blackberry 9700 with os6 leaked version. i had that phone for 16 months. loved the phone and great battery life. but after a year, it just got boring. the blackberry did nothing better than what android does.
blackberry has a 3 year old processor in it that cant handle anything.
it just a texting phone. not media friendly, like android. so why not get a basic feature phone.

Left a torch a month ago. I'll never go back. Been using blackberries since they first came out--probably since around 2000. The only advantage is battery life.

I miss the battery life on the Bold and that is the only thing I miss. With a car charger and a micro-usb, charing the phone twice a day is well worth it.

I came from a Bold (9000) and my Inspire is better in every way...except battery life. I kind of miss the physical keyboard, but this is my first touchscreen so there is a learning curve for me.

+1

BB Bold 9000 -> Captivate -> Inspire

Touchscreen keyboards take some getting used to, but the bold's keyboard wasn't any more efficient for me... I was still managing to hit more than one letter at a time unintentionally. ;)
