AC Question

My screen broke after I accidentally dropped it before my case came in the mail. It isn't severe & it still works good though. I bought it from target, because they had the cheapest price for it there. Thankfully, I have a warranty & insurance for the phone too. Lastly, I just need to know the exact average price for a screen repair is all & nothing else. I hope to hear from someone soon.

The cost for repair can vary from place to place. I've heard places do repairs anywhere from $150 to $300.

Be careful though, I've heard some horror stories of places messing up the device more after they "fix" the screen.

I would advise going through the warranty/insurance company.

What about Geek Squad?

Some insurance plans require you to get fairly exact estimates, sometimes to match against ones they get. i don't think it's an unreasonable request by the OP, but I do believe he's asking in the wrong place.

OP, you need to ask local repair shops who can evaluate the damage if this is for an insurance claim.

Why not just buy a Otterbox Defender, Armorbox, or Unicorn Beetle and call it a day?

I see people going naked or using these thin arse cases, then complain when they crack their screen.

With my $7 a month coverage through Verizon a screen repair or a lost s8 would be a $149 deductible.

Mine had an otter box still cracked and it only fell from my bed that's not high at all to my wood floor for all of you saying get a case. oh and to get it fixed under insurance is a 200 deductible but if you get it fixed by one of those fix it company's it's 400 in my area

I had an insurance through Sprint and went to get it fixed for one thing but they told me they couldn't do it until the screen was fixed. They told me $125 to replace the screen which is half of a replacement phone. They could not get parts for the S8+ yet so they had to replace the phone. Told me it would cost the $125 until I went to pick up the phone and was told it would cost $250. I cut that insurance and now looking for another.

He had a case coming in the mail. Accidents happen. Obviously, you can't read, but thankfully they make a great program for you.

Yeah but keep in mind it's equally annoying hearing people say to people who don't like thick cases to get an OtterBox. Not everyone wants a Fugly thick OtterBox on their phone. There are plenty of thin protective cases. They did actually say that they were waiting for a case to arrive when it happened.

Samsung charged me 200.00 but I wouldn't recommend them. took 20 days from the time they got it till I got it back. when I got it back had a charger for the old Samsung's not the one I sent them and was missing the Sims tray. called them they sent a new cord never received the Sims tray.

the Otterbox Defender isn't very thick on the S8 and it's also very grippy too. The thin cases usually don't protect the sides well and also depth for the camera cutout is key too. Why I can't stand Tech 21. Offers little back and camera protection.

As has been mentioned elsewhere... pay your phone bill with a Wells Fargo credit card and you have up to $600 coverage with a tiny $25 deductible. Nothing else comes close. The insurance is just there. You get it with the card.

Mod Note: Okay, thread going way off topic, we also don't need name calling. Let's all be nice.
