how much will the EVO car dock cost?

I'm personally excited for the dock with micro usb AND hdmi. a quick way to hook it up to the TV.

At the NY press release, they said it would have a car dock like the N1. I was hopeful that it would have battery contacts (not microUSB) to charge and Bluetooth for the data connection.

How hard is it to slide into a dock like this? And how fragile is the connector sticking out of the dock?

That'd be definitely nice, but we saw the bottom of the Evo way back at CTIA, and no battery contacts. So no way the dock could have worked that way.

I don't think the car dock has (or needs...) a data connection at all. It's just power.

i wish the docks and the phone had contact strips on the back like the blackberry where u just drop in dock real quick ... with those plugs u have to be a little more careful in linning it up

yes. it goes to the car screen automatically. I've heard it mentioned in a few of the videos on youtube.
