How often does Asus update their Android?

Thinking of getting the 3 Ultra to replace my nexus 7 as the screen size is almost similar (6.8" vs 7"), however I am wondering about Asus support in their Android.

Anyone can help?

ASUS is pretty good about frequent system updates to the ZenFone 2 line. For a while, it seemed like I was getting one once or even twice a month. They're typically bugfixes and some added features. However, they've been slow with Marshmallow implementation--mine is still on Lollipop (although some of the later ZenFone 2 variants got Marshmallow).

I saw on Zentalk where it is mentioned that only Zenfone ZE500KL has received Android M & is quite stable also this is the last month as what they have mnetioned so after waiting so long we might get Android M soon.
