How Often is Battery Level Refreshed?

How often are battery stats like % and mv refreshed by system? I noticed after 2 hours off the charger today (sleeping but connected to networks etc.) It still read 100%. I went to settings - phone - battery thinking it might reftesh data but it didn't so I connected to power and numbers dropped from 100%, 4202 mv to 99%, 4102 mv. Obviously data wasn't up to date. I gave it a good 15 minutes awake and sent an email before going through these steps so the problem wasn't just that phone was sleeping.

Is there any way to manually update this data short of connecting to power or doing a restart? I don't want to think I have 80% only to have data suddenly refresh to 50% without seeing the gradual drop.

The only time I've seen similar is when using the extended battery and not using the phone much after a fulll charge. It comes off 100% very slowly in comparison to the standard battery. Either way, I don't believe there is any way to force a refesh of the battery status (the function is internal to the phone).

I use Battery Monitor Widget Pro. I pay more attention to Ma than Mv. In an case it has lots of options for what data you want displayed and how often it checks/graphs.

Why would you care about current draw? mv tells me when to recharge. I know when ma is high cuz phone gets hot! LOL

Any idea how often the stock battery level is refreshed or if it can be done manually?

Terminal Voltage should remain close to constant throughout battery cycle. The ideal battery would have no internal resistance and therefore no variation of terminal Voltage. Available capacity of battery depends upon the rate of discharge = Ma.

The application must calculate that because the sense 2.1 battery widget gives you voltage.

I have no idea why it would display voltage.... standard and extended have the same voltage rating..... what differs is MhA. Get yourself a better app/widget. There are plenty to choose from. A lot are free.

It displays voltage because 4.2 volts is "full". Like right now mine reads 4097 mv. It is a more accurate measure of need to charge than ma.

Mah only tells you the capacity of the battery. That number doesn't change (unless the battery is "unhealthy" ) so no need to display it. You can't estimate "hours to empty" by using ma and mah because ma varies constantly.

Yah, the stock HTC battery widget (have to download via "Get more HTC widget") displays the voltage which is always just above 4 volts when the battery is fully charged and continues to drop as it discharges.I'm at 78% right now and the voltage say 3948mV. This is typical of ANY type of battery, higher charge means greater voltage, less charge, less voltage. The current rating is strictly capacity of the battery. Higher current rating equals greater capacity. At least that's what my old electronics training told me. :)

While measuring battery state of charge can be done By Voltage it is the least accurate method. By Ampere-Hours is more accurate. The third measure I know is By Gravity, but I don't see any one outside a lab using this method.

You mean maH remaining? The maH of the battery doesn't change. Like an 18650 size li ion battery might be rated at 2200 maH. Once used for an undetermined period at varying amp draw I don't know how you would measure maH remaining. You also don't drain it to 0 volts. You should only drain to around 3.7 volts or you may shorten the life of the battery.
When battery measures 3.7 volts on a multimeter I know it is time to recharge.

I didn't mean to be nit picking but obviously I am so I'll stop
