How OFten To Power On/Off?

So I've had my TB for about a month now. I can't say I'm in love, but I'm in lots of like. Anyway, I'm wondering how often I should be powering off the phone? What benefits does doing that offer? What happens if I never power it off? Thanks and I really appreciate everything I read in this forum.

Reboots should be fine... the only time I power mine down is to do a bump charge, and I usually do that once a week right now... but if I was not doing that I would never power it down... like I was trying to say is I might reboot my device maybe once a week or so (sorry, I'm an old BB user and it's a habbit with them), but rebooting will not hurt your device, it will just clear out memory and do a fresh boot... but all this is just one person's opinion.

I don't power down at all. But I do reboot every now and then just to see what my battery level really is at.

I reboot tons... probably average like 2-3 times a day over a week, especially when flashing new roms, playing with cpu settings and such. It's good to reboot sometimes anyway. It closes out old straggler processes and gives everything a chance to reset its self.

I used to only reboot maybe once a week, usually for an off-day bump charge. Now I'm like SoDev, rebooting almost daily to flash new kernels and such. Like the others said, it just sorta refreshes your system - you certainly don't have to do it but if things start to get a little laggy it couldn't hurt.

As an old BlackBerry user I am in the habit of rebooting every morning. when I first got the phone I never rebooted. After a few weeks I felt like the phone started to lag. It was back to it's snappy self after a reboot. So now a reboot is part of my morning routine. The phone reboots so quickly that it's a lot less painful to do than with my BlackBerry.

I restart the phone once every couple of days, just to clear anything that may be in the background or otherwise.

Like all former BB owners, we're used rebooting our phones to get rid of the lag. I reboot my phone depending on if the rom or kernel I'm running, gets updated.....which is every few days. I'm loving the 45-50secs(normal) boot time compared to my Storm 8mins+ boot time.

Another one that flashes new "toys" to my phone 3-4 times weekly......good practice if you notice things start to lag, or the phone does not feel as "snappy" as you like.....reboot should be fine, you should not have to turn your phone al the way off, unless bump charging, or you clearly just want to turn it off.

Like Tue above poster I only reboot when flashing something new to my phone which is usually once or twice a week. If you ever notice your phone lagging a restart is a good option to start.

Like others, two or three times a week but never if I am not close to a charger since the damn thing eats so much battery between turn off and turn on.

Also a former BB user. I just rebooted my TB because I wasn't getting SMS notification sounds. Confirmed settings were correct. Reboot fixed it. Is anyone using an app to schedule reboots? I used Meterberry with my Storm, and used the option in that app to reboot my Storm every morning at 5AM. Would like to use something like that on my TB as well.

I turn off my phone every morning after unplugging it from the charger....just the make sure its all clear (memory wise) after the full charge.
