I've used Private Mode on my S6 for a while now. Does anyone know exactly how secure Private Mode is? For personal reasons I don't use a screen lock to open my phone, but I do for Private Mode. If someone stole my phone, how secure are those Private Mode files?

Thank you for the reply. Yes, this device is a Samsung Galaxy S6, but on this device it is referred to as Private Mode, not secure folder.

Your welcome!
I don't remember my s6 having private mode, where in setting you see this ?

It's been quite some time since I had the s6 , what Android version it's on also?

Quite honestly I don't know the Android version. Months ago I sent my phone to Asurion for a cracked screen. I didn't factory reset the phone because of ignorance. I didn't have a screen lock to open the phone. I just recently realized that factory reset would have been smart for obvious reasons, but it's too late for that now. I guess I'm just paranoid about someone having access to my phone once the screen was replaced. That is the reason for inquiring about the security of Private Mode. From what I understand it operates similar to Secure Folder, but it doesn't have Samsung Knox.

Ahh ok gotcha.

If you want you can change your password s on accounts you have , but I don't remember private mode so I won't be able suggest anything in that regard.

Asurion can image storage, and that gives them unlimited access to the entire phone.

Would they? No. People who can do things like that have far too many devices to work on to spend time looking at one particular device. (I used to fix database files - tens of thousands of user info records each. Did I look at them? I had to in order to fix them. Did I remember any of them? Not by the time I got to the next one.) Besides, once they replaced the broken screen (assuming they didn't just trash the phone for the gold), the first thing they'd usually do is flash the latest ROM (whether you had it or you had an earlier version). That wipes everything you had, so they'd never see your data.
