I bought my Droid RAZR XT912 off ebay a few weeks ago. In my attempt to modify the radio to work on the T-Mobile GSM band I did a hard reset to erase my unsuccessful earlier attempts. Well as luck would have it, now I cant use my phone att all because it requires activation and my Verizon SIM has no service on it. Talking to the Verizon service rep brings me nowhere because he says that the only way to activate the phone is to get a plan, with the cheapest monthly plan at $90 before tax. Does anyone know of a way to skip activation? remember that all phones are different and what works on your Thunderbolt probably wont work on my RAZR, all ideas are welcome and appreciated.

So you don't have a verizon plan but have a verizon sim? I don't think it's possible unless you get a plan. Unless you are just trying to nude your phone as a tablet then I think if you press the 4 corners starting at the top left at the activation screen it should bypass it and let you into the phone

What about using a t mobile sim. Since ics makes it a global sim on the gsm network it should work right. Try the method I said then got to settings>mobile networks and select gsm and try to activate it from there. You would have to have a t mobile sim that has a valid plan tied with that in order for that to work though.
Sent from my RAZR MAXXIMUS ;)
