You can add and manage your own sounds without a 3rd party app manager. You can use a directory explorer of your choice to do the following:

I use Astro to create the following directories:
/sdcard/system/media/audio/alarms

/sdcard/system/media/audio/notifications

/sdcard/system/media/audio/ring tones

I copied some notifications from the root to alarms on the sdcard, "Revelation" is sweet to wake up to each morning.

Copy any supported sound to corresponding dir and it will show up as selection in appropriate settings.

Just wanted to share this with the "X" users, since most are newbies and may not be aware of what is possible with the dir structure.
An old s60 trick, enjoy.

Your tip makes for some high quality tinkering. You mentioned you copied sounds from the root--I seem to not be able to find any sounds on the root directory. Could you be more specific?

Also, does this require root (copy and paste from internal memory)? Will the alarm clock automatically read any new sub directory named "alarm" from which to pull files? Thanks, great thread.

Why are you bothering with copying tones from the root to your new folders? ...just keep the root files in place and drop your custom ringtones in the folders you created and be done with it.
