New to android user here, with a noob question.

How do I get into TWRP? While the N7 is first booting i hold all 3 buttons to get into the menu (what is this menu called anyways?). From there i go select Recovery, and then it just hangs. I thought it would open up TWRP but it just hangs and i have to hold the power button to power it off and boot normally.

Thanks!

Its a bug. You need to turn it off and plug it in. Then boot holding all buttons and pick recovery. It will work then.

You can reboot into recovery directly from your device, without plugging into the computer.

Install this. Then open it, and type:

su
hit enter
reboot recovery
hit enter

You were right. I tried it, and it worked. When I plugged it into the computer, it went into TWRP as you said it would. However, when I tried with it plugged into the wall, it just froze at the menu selector with 'Start' selected. I couldn't change it from start, and I also couldn't press the power button to select start. It was just frozen. I tried it multiple times and got the same results, which seemed a bit odd.

Is there any way to fix this glitch, so I can get into TWRP without a computer and without using any of the other programs? I'd like a real fix to the glitch because.. What if I cant even get it to boot up to get into a program?

Thanks for the replies guys.

There is no fix at this point. Only workarounds. At least most ROMs have recovery as a power menu option.

But like you said, if you can't get it to boot past the bootloader, plugging it into your computer is the only option.

Check your Widgets in the App drawer. Alphabetically, there is a 'Recovery' widget that boots you right into TWRP. Just press it from the App drawer to enter recovery or long-press and drop onto a home screen for even easier access.

I can NOT get into TWRP no matter what I try. I am no newbie to rooting android phones and I never have had the problem before. I have installed a lot of roms in the past with no problems. I am at a loss to figure it all out. My LG G2 is rooted and I did manage to get kitkat from cyanogen on it but I can't get the twrp to boot up at all. Any suggestions?
