How to bypass parsing errors(must I really update my OS?)

Sooo getting this with a number of apps, I've found out that it seems to linked to my incompatible device or primitive OS. Basically I am looking for an alternative to get these apks to run without some complicated rooting procedure OR buying a better device, I own a LG revolution and I'd prefer not to waste the time with either of those things JUST to get a few apps to run. Just one minor rant here, I though android was all about freedom, why on earth then must our devices be told to every app before we even attempt to run them?(can't we just disable this?) Even apple doesn't do that, if it crashes, it crashes, I'll uninstall and move on, at least let me try.
