I split my time between Canada, where my Google account was set up, and U.S. I would like to use Google Play gift cards while in the states, but my primary IP address is in Canada. How can I change my account to reflect my U.S. address as primary while I am here? I have US Play cards that will not redeem while I am in the US, presumably because my Google profile is all Canadian. I've been through this before, when I first bought my tablet in the US, and I changed my profile address to make the cards work. I just can't figure out how to do it again. I have deleted the Canadian credit card from my Play store account, but other than that I am at a loss as to how to erase Canada from my profile. Help, please!

Start a new gmail account (an additional one) and add it to your phone?

I did something similar but I don't have two different countries involved.

Oh.. I guess that won't work since the credits are still tied to the old account. Sorry.

Long story short, just make an account while you are there. Now they even restrict it to only allowing it where the account was made. I tried an infinite number of things to get my Canadian account to take US gift cards I bought, and it wasn't happening. I also recently made an account for my Dad while in the USA and it won't let him redeem Canadian accounts now even though all I did was create it in the USA. I even added a Canadian CC and made a purchase here, but no dice.

Hopefully one day we will be able to view other people's wishlist and buy apps for people as a gift, that way we can load up other accounts and buy for your main one.

I managed to do it:
1) Download the tunnelBear application - which gives you 500MB of free VPN a month.
2) Within the tunnelber application, create a user, and set the desired VPN location to USA
3) In Application Manager, find the "Google Play Store" app, and delete all its data and cache
4) Turn on TunnelBear VPN. All network connections from your Android will be routed through the USA.
5) Launch The Play Store App. Now the app would think you are in the USA.
