How To Change Google Acct Associated with Captivate / Android v 2.1

How do I remove the original Google Account, (without performing a factory reset) and replace it with another Google Account?

I'm using a Samsung Captivate with Android ver 2.1

I've searched and only found methods that relate to earlier versions of Android.

Sorry, this isn't help, just joining in your question. I have a Samsung Vibrant and although my original gmail account was first associated with the phone, some dummy tech person suggested a dummy account for the calendar because I didn't want to sync. everything from my original gmail account. Now they tell me I can't add the calendar to the original account without factory reset--with all the time and hassle that that involves. So I'm also looking for answers.
