When my phone restarts, I don't like the default home screen.

I always swipe left 6x, to the last one. That one has a simple home screen, with the date/time, and one row of apps.

How can I make it so that this home screen layout is the default one, even after my phone restarts?

This a Note 4 ?

Long press empty page on home screen then st top of each card you can choose what home page you want as home

Yes a Note 4.

I went to the empty page, and stopped on the home page I wanted.

But when I restarted my phone, it still went to the default home page

In figure B here:

It says there should be a pop up that asks "Just Once" or "Always".

I don't see anything like that, never have.

That article is about changing your default homescreen launcher, which I think isn't what you're asking about. You want to choose which homescreen is the default one that shows up when you tap the Home button.

Long press an empty part of the homescreen, then show us a screenshot of the interface you see there. If there's a way to set which homescreen is the default, it's typically using that menu. There might be a little Home icon at the top that you can tap for a particular homescreen to make that one the default one. But it can vary among the various launcher apps that different phones have.

Here's some screen shots of when I longpress the empty part of the home screen.

On the screen where you long-press an empty part of the homescreen, scroll over to your preferred default homescreen and tap the Home icon at the top of the miniaturized screen, and see if it toggles on. If it does, then you've selected that homescreen as your default one.

That worked!

Thank you.

Wish I had asked years ago.

But now I can finally have this set the way I want, as default.
