how to change keyboard

i installed the gingerbread keyboard from this site:

what i don't know is how to change from the default sense keyboard to this gingerbread keyboard. can anyone help?

Settings > language & keyboard > check the keyboard you want.... Now when you get to a text box, long press on screen, until "input method" shows. Choose "gingerbread keyboard". It should now default to that.

Compose an email or sms message... press and hold for a second, then a choice will come up "Input method," select that, then change keyboards.

Needs to make sure it is selected under "settings/language & keyboard " first.

You are probably correct... I forgot that... sorry... I guess that's why I did not edit my response... I figured the OP would see that in your response.

either the gingerbread keyboard didn't install correctly or something is different on the thunderbolt. on my original droid, installing the gingerbread keyboard worked w/o issue and i went into language/keyboard settings like sherri mentioned. on my thunderbolt, i don't see anywhere in the language and keyboard settings where one can select a keyboard.

edit: i guess the gingerbread keyboard didn't install correctly. i tried one of the free keyboards from the market and it did appear in the keyboard and language settings.

One other thing to keep in mind with the bolt:

You have to long press in a text area to select input method. At least that is how it was with smartkeyboard pro on mine. As for it not showing up in settings, no clue. Might be different for other 3rd party kb's too (disclaimer).
