I'm new to the Maxx and Ics. How do I change the apps on the lock screen? I don't use the default messaging app and would like to change it go GoSms.

I'd recommend WidgetLocker.
On top of being fully customizable (as customizable as any other screen in your phone), it also supports Badge Notifications (the little red #'s indicating how many for each App) not only for SMS / GMail / Missed Calls...it's really for ALL your Apps.
It's admittedly an iDevice feature sorely missed from Android.

Here's how--> http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=199709

Personally, I prefer the stock text messaging app... but I've seen this in the past:

Settings>Applications>All and find the stock text message app. Once found, disable it. Your third party text message app will now become the default app and appear on your lock screen.

I found out that disabling the stock would not allow me to receive mms messages.

Go sms newest update has it its basic settings a way to make it your preferred sms app and it will make it show on your lock screen. Please enable the stock messaging app and just turn off its notifications.

Your right. I fixed it.
