How to change my default messaging folder for attaching images?

I have a new LG Harmony and every time I want to attach a image and send it as a sms, It opens this app/folder? with all my pictures that says "recent" and i have to manually quick on "gallery" on this "open from" tab on the top left of the app/folder. Is there any way that I can setup the app to automatically open my Gallery instead of this when I attach an image? I already reset all the default apps so it's not that issue.

Gallery is an app, not a place with pictures. It shows pictures from anywhere in the phone. And you can't use Gallery to look for images for the messaging app.

How do you get to the Recents Folder? I can only get to it in Messages also and it shows photos that are NOT in Camera, Gallery, Photos or Google Drive???
