How to change the incoming call style on KitKat 4.4.2

My device runs on kitkat 4.4.2 and whenever i receive a call half of the screen goes black and i do not see any options for answer/end/msg until i touch the dialer sign, then the options appear in a circle. Is there a way i can change the incoming call style without using any apps?

That doesn't look right. Are you rooted or unrooted? Running the stock ROM?

That strikes me as a glitch or a very poorly-coded Phone/Dialer app. Do you know anyone else with your same phone model that you can compare with?

No i dont know anyone to compare with, do you think there is anything wrong with the device?

Usually, in that kind of interface, you have to touch the phone icon, and then drag it to one of the sides. Dragging to one side usually means answer, dragging to the other usually means reject. Is that what you see? If so, then that's normal behavior. I was just thinking that it was weird how the big contact avatar is cut off like that.

Yes indeed thatz the behavior, i was wondering if there is something wrong with the dialer. Its almost complete black out. It looks bad and i wanted to change it. Thank you, as I now know its normal.
