Okay, been trying to figure out how the N8 works on ringtones. I downloaded some, but when I assigned the, it would call it a totally wrong name on some compared to what the files is called. Any idea why this is happening?

But, also now trying to figure out how to delete the ringtone cache. Meaning, if I remove all the downloaded ringtones I did, go into notifications and ringtones, only the original ones that came with the N8 are there. But if I copy back to a ringtone folder I made on my SD card, it again links to some of them I had assigned, and again, wrong names for many. So clearly there has to be a way to clear the ringtone cache so I can try and start over again with ringtones and see if I can find the root cause as to why some ringtones I link to get the wrong name.

For this, if I'm not mistaken, you would have to delete the file from the file explorer app that you have, or My Files, and then from there. if you want to re-add them, with the correct information, any text editor, on the computer, or metadata editor, or even audio mixing/converting program such as adobe audition or cool edit, etc. would work in ensuring you have the right meta data, and it would update on your phone accordingly

So far, nothing works. I removed all the files from the ringtone file. I then look at the sounds, ringtones, and they are all gone. But as soon a I copy them back into the ringtone folder I made on the SD card, the ones I had played with for possible ringtones for phone numbers all came back. This means they are still stored in cache somewhere, which is what I need to delete without having to reset the phone
