How to connect gaming headset to android phone?

I've YU Yuphoria, and I'd recently brought a SteelSeries The SIMs 4 51161 Gaming headset. It works very well with my laptop. But the problem is that I want it to work with my android phone also. Saw few videos on YouTube, related to problem, and according to their solution all I have to do is to connect headset and phone through the USB cable. But it does no affect nowhere, phone plays the music as nothing been connected to it.

Please help me out guys.

What make and model pf phone?

What kind of plug on the headset? (If it's USB, you can't connect it to your phone. It has to be Bluetooth, or it has to have a round 3.5mm plug.)
