Android Central Question

Hi. I am aware of the ways to create folder and file shortcuts on the home screen. Is there a way to create file shortcuts in any folder? I have a large number of media files sorted into categories in folders on an SD card. Sometimes a file belongs to more than one category and I’d like to make the file accessible from all relevant folders without taking up storage space by duplicating the file. Is this possible (like it is in Windows) or can shortcuts only be placed on the home screen?

Welcome to Android Central! You could use a file manager like Total Commander to create a file shortcut widget for a given file. You could then group those widgets into a folder.
